Gregory Jones

Gregory Jones was born in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in East St. Louis, Illinois. He graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School with honors in 1977. He attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa graduating with a B A in Liberal Arts and a MBA in Business Administration. While at Drake University he held the office of Vice President and President of the Black Student Organization. He founded and led a student ran security force called the Omega Patrol. He was active in several student organizations including University’s Organization for Women where he was the first male to hold an elected office.

After college Mr. Jones spent several years working as a free lance writer and managing a group home for mentally retarded adults in Rhode Island. He returned to St. Louis where he currently works for the city of St. Louis monitoring Community Development Block Grant Funds. In addition to his work duties, Mr. Jones volunteers 5 hours a week at Patrick Henry Elementary School in St. Louis. He served for over 3 years as a trustee in the Carpenters Union and for over 10 years as member of the board of directors for the Carpenters Credit Union. He served as a grant writer for the Jackie Joyner Kersee Foundation and has led numerous fund raising and capital campaigns.

He has been married to Angela (BoClair) and they have a 9 year old son, Sterling, an 8 year old daughter Karaa, and 4 year old twin girls Peyton and Reyce.
