Niles D. Stewart
Niles D. Stewart began his banking career in 1983 with the Dime Savings Bank
of NY in their management training program through the Corporate Planning
Department.
Since then Niles has worked with Carver Federal Savings and helped set up
their Residential Lending Department as well as their Commercial Real Estate
Lending arm. During his tenure there he worked with the Chief Lending Officer
in building a substantial commercial real estate loan portfolio in the communities
that the bank serves.
After Carver Niles worked briefly with Merrill Lynch as a Financial Advisor who’s
specialty was working with small business owners managing all aspects of their
financial welfare from lending to retirement and estate planning.
Post Merrill Niles went to CitiBank where he was the Area Manager for the
Bank’s Business Banking Department. There he was charged with managing
a team of Relationship Managers who were responsible for the bank’s most
profitable business clients in Brooklyn and Staten Island. His team was
responsible for several billion dollars in deposits and several hundred million in
loans.
Currently Niles is with Banco Popular as Vice President in their Business
Banking Group and is charged with strengthening the Bank’s position in the
Brooklyn marketplace as it relates to commercial banking relationships.
Niles is a lifelong Brooklyn resident, extremely active in the community and has
served on several non-profit boards.
