Royal Terence Ivey
Royal Terence Ivey (born 20 December 1981, in Harlem, New York) is an American professional basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA. He started on the Benjamin N. Cardozo High School basketball team in Queens, New York City.
After a college career at the University of Texas at Austin, in which he finished as the school's all-time career leader in games started (126). While at Texas, Royal majored in Education and plans to open up a Charter School when he retires.
Royal was a second round draft choice of the Atlanta Hawks in the 2004 NBA Draft. He has played for four NBA teams: Atlanta, Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Oklahoma City. His career high is 19 points while playing with the Phildelphia 76ers.
Royal demonstrates his commitment to “giving back” by conducting summer basketball/education clinics for youth in Hollis, NY and Austin, TX.
